Aero Contractors airlines resumes flight operations

Aero Contractors Airlines, Friday,  resumed its flight operations across the country after two weeks of suspending its operations due to the crisis between the management and staffs of the airline over poor welfare packages.
Vanguard was at the Domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2, MMA2 and gathered that the counters of the airline were opened to intending passengers who came to buy their tickets.
When Contacted, One of the staffs of Pathfinder International, a sub company to Aero Contractors that provides Aviation Security, AVSEC, for the airline confirmed that they were called by the management of the airline to resume work Friday.
The staff, who refused to have his name mentioned in print said ”The Management of Aero Contractors asked us to come to work this morning that they are beginning their flight operations today. As you can see, they just opened the counters to intending passengers and they are buying their tickets while some of them are checking in”
However, it was observed that the passengers that were patronising the airline at the moment were not many in their numbers as most of the Nigerian flying publics were not aware that the airline has resumed its operations because there was no prior information to that effect.
Speaking through a text message sent to our correspondent, Spokesman for Aero Contractors, Mr. Simon Tumba, confirmed that the airline has resumed its operation but stressed that he was waiting for an approved statement from the management of the airline.
“Yes, we have resumed but I am waiting for an approved statement.”
It was also learnt that the airline was delayed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, from starting its operations as planned earlier by the airline because of what the agency termed as inadequate staff strength that was below the operational capacity of the airline, so NCAA insisted that it must beef up its manpower by recalling the workers before it would be allowed to resume operation.
Fares were relatively high, Friday,  except Arik which maintained its fares, Aero which just resumed services sold Lagos to Port Harcourt ticket at N27,400; Med View, N27,000 and from Lagos to Abuja and other destinations from N23,000.
It will be recalled that the workers of Aero Contractors grounded all the flight operations of the airline two weeks ago over what they termed as poor welfare package for workers and anti-union activities by management.
