Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday Russia did not intend to wage a war against Turkey after its air force shot down a Russian jet near the Turkish border with Syria.

(Nigeria) The Coalition of Registered Political Parties, CRPP, in Edo State has urged Governor Adams Oshiomhole to probe the administration of Chief Lucky Igbinedion as governor of the state. Chairman of the group, Dr Samson Isibor, made the call in a news conference after a meeting of the body in Benin on Wednesday.

(Nigeria) The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, saying the Governor is doing well.  Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor in Government House, the Emir said “I am happy to see that the governor is doing well.” 

A Russian airman who survived the downing of his warplane says Turkish jets did not issue any warnings.  Capt. Konstantin Murakhtin said Wednesday on Russian television that his plane was flying over Syrian territory and didn't violate Turkish airspace.

Russian and Syrian special forces on Wednesday rescued one of the pilots of a Russian warplane shot down by Turkey near the Turkish-Syrian border, a report said.

(Nigeria) The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday said it had improved on its logistics and was ready to conduct a hitch-free governorship election in Bayelsa on December 5.

Turkey’s General Staff has conducted one of the largest airspace control missions near the border with Syria, simultaneously engaging 18 F-16 fighter jets, the General Staff said in a statement released on Wednesday.
