fire outbreak in the early hours of Wednesday,  at Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, Lagos.

I commiserate deeply with all those affected by this fire disaster. I call on the government and relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the fire outbreak thoroughly, and forestall future occurrence, while finding ways to help the affected victims.

The need for equal protection under the law; and government's meeting of her responsibility to protect lives and property cannot be overemphasised.

This came as Labour Party, LP, Lagos state governorship candidate in the March 11, 2023, election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, donated N15million to victims of the Akere Parts dealer.

Rhodes-Vivour, who visited the market to inspect the extent of damage done by the fire, also commiserated with the traders and promised to rebuild the market to international standard when he comes in as the governor of the state.
