Shaibu congratulates Alimikhena, The Iyase of Uwanno Kingdom

(Nigeria) Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr Philip Shaibu has congratulated Senator Francis Alimikhena on his successful  installation as the Iyase of Uwanno Kingdom.

The Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom,  Dr. George Egabor, weekend conferred the prestigious title of "Iyase" on the Senator representing Edo North in the National Assembly.

" In his good will message, the Deputy Governor said, "as the Prime Minister of the respected Uwanno people, I pray the good Lord to grant you spiritual Insight and the wisdom to provide  the needed leadership for your  people.

"No doubt, Senator Alimikhena deserves to be honoured as someone whose passion for service to humanity is uncommon, especially in Afemai land."Comrade Shaibu maintained that by this high chieftaincy title, "Senator Alimikhena has surrendered himself to a higher purpose for the betterment of humanity, adding that doing this is noble and admirable.""I commend your unwavering commitment but am not surprised. I would rather have been surprised if it has been otherwise. We are of the same religious faith and the same calling. It's in our Character  to always do the extraordinary."

Speaking further, the Edo Deputy Governor said, aside from being same faith, my closeness to Senator is based on the common values which we share in terms of development. It is our shared belief that "the liberty of million might depend on the character of one man." That's the secret that has bonded us together."

On behalf of my family and the good people of our Constituency in Edo North, I congratulate the Iyase of Uwanno Kingdom.

*Presidential election petition tribunal sittings in Abuja (Nigeria) Conference Of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, has thrown its weight behind calls for live broadcast of the proceedings of the presidential election petition court sittings in Abuja. In a statement by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the umbrella body of all registered political parties and political associations in the country noted that not only will the live broadcast douse tension associated with the ongoing proceedings and high expectations by the electorates, it will also promote transparency in the court process in public interest.
