Ekiti 2018: Voters might bigger than incumbency, federal might ----Adewale
*Otunba Segun Adewale, Ekiti ADP guber candidate
(Nigeria) A governorship
candidate in the forthcoming July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State,
Otunba Segun Adewale has renewed his confidence in the electorates to reject
attempt to foist leadership on the state, saying he is not not worried over the
bragadociousness of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and All Progressives
Congress, APC candidates.
Adewale, popularly called OsaPraPra, said this while
fielding questions from a presenter on a current affair programme in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, declaring that "voters might is bigger
than federal might and the scheming of the incumbent government.
The ADP candidate who said he has toured the 16 local
government in Ekiti in campaigning to clinch the top seat in the state,
lamented the disturbing rate of poverty among citizens, which he promised to
curtail if elected as governor.
Portraying the ruling government as a den of lies and media
propaganda, Adewale said though the Ayodele Fayose-led government has been
misleading people outside the state with feign pictures, the reality in the
state is that Ekiti people have rejected continuity of anguish and poverty.
The successful entrepreneur added that he is unmoved by the
names being paraded by APC, noting that attempt to intimidate the people of the
state with federal might will fail just as it has failed on many occasions in
parts of Nigeria because Ekiti people will not surrender their electoral power
no matter the threat.
Apparently optimistic of winning the election, Adewale
pointed out that his party ADP, remains the only clean and ideal party that
people of the state considers the right alternative to salvage the state from a
total collapse.
Analysing the candidate of the PDP, Prof. Kolapo Olusola and
APC, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the ADP candidate observed that while Olusola will be
accountable to his promoter, Governor Fayose, his rival, Fayemi will be
answerable only to President Muhammadu Buhari and not the suffering masses of
the state.
When asked on his rising popularity among electorates in the
state, Adewale attributed it to his good campaign and manifesto, adding that
his campaign will kickoff fully from Thursday.
He hinted that his campaign will put the entire state on
standstill during the official flag-off, noting that unlike PDP and APC who spent
heavily to mobilise people to their campaigns, the people of Ekiti would rally
round him as they eagerly yearns for him as their next governor.
Adewale, however, urged Ekiti people to come out enmasses on
the election day to vote against poverty, continuity of deceit orchestrated by
PDP and in the same vein vote against Kayode Fayemi of APC, calling on them to
vote overwhelmingly for his party ADP.
