S-South CAN chairman asks FG to reach out to B- Haram for Leah Sharibu release

*Archbishop God-Dowell Avwomakpa

Nigeria) Chairman, South South zone of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN,  Archbishop God-Dowell Avwomakpa has called on the Federal Government to employ the same method it used in reaching out to  Boko Haram leaders that led to the release of 104 of the Dapchi girls so that the terrorist group can also  release Leah Sharibu, one of the Dapchi 110 girls that  was taken captive by the Islamic group on February 19, 2018 from their dormitories at the Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State.
Avwomakpa also Presiding Archbishop of The Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, who spoke in Asaba, Delta State, expressed surprise that one of the abducted girls was not release because she refused to denounce her faith, noting that religion was by choice and not by force.
Avwomakpa in a statement by his media aide, Ovie Edomi and Ese Otedoh, Head, Media, Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church international inc Worldwide, said “The adopted Christian girl is not just an Ambassador of Jesus Christ, she represents the soul of every Christian. Her remaining in captivity will make Christians to feel bad for voting in a Moslem leader unless something is done.
“We are surprise that one of the abducted girls was not release because she refused to denounce her faith noted that religion is by choice and not by force.
“The insurgents should release the girl along with the remaining Chibok girls that are in captivity so that it will not push Christians against their Moslem brothers and neighbours.
“Other clerics across the globe have gone into intercession for the girl and others held for similar reasons by the insurgents in their camps.
“The Federal Government  should reach out to the Boko Haram leaders so that they can release Leah Sharibu and others in Boko Haram custody instead of inviting calamities on the Boko Haram insurgents and their sponsors.”
Avwomakpa who was in the US when the Dapchi incident took place noted that one of his prayers when he got the news was for God to intervene and turn the story of the Dachi adoption around for good.
He said the release of 104 girls with five dead and one still in captivity only demonstrate that the insurgents are pushing their agenda too far, a development he said could  spark off religious crisis.
