Tai controversy: Come out of hiding, PDP tells Chidi Lloyd

(Nigeria) The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that was an act of cowardice for Mr. Chidi Lloyd, defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to continue his nocturnal activities from the hiding.
Chairman of the PDP in the dtate, Mr Felix Obuah, stated on Thursday, while responding to the statement credited to the former leader of the State Assembly, Chidi Lloyd, on the uncovered plot by the APC, in collaboration with Amina Zakari of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to announce concocted results of the March 19, 2016, re-run elections in Tai Local Government Area of the state, in violation of a court order.
Obuah said it was only a coward that would continue to speak from the cave, adding that if he was man enough, he should come out from the hiding to face criminal charges against him.
“We’re surprised to hear, Mr. Chidi Lloyd talking in defense of Amina Zakari’s attempt to announce cooked result of elections that never held. For him to be properly informed and abreast of the facts, he needs to come out of hiding and interact with the people of Tai, peruse INEC statements, publications and recordings, as well as the Federal High Court ruling on the said elections. So he would stop making wrong and misleading speeches and propositions on the matter.
“Mr. Lloyd had only woken up from the wrong side of the bed because of his lack of knowledge.
“We urge Mr. Chidi Lloyd and other APC chieftains to respect the court and the rule of law by not supporting illegality and electoral fraud in pursuit of selfish ambitions of unpopular candidates of the APC in Tai, Rivers South-East senatorial district and indeed other parts of the state.
“ PDP is resolute in resisting any attempt to fraudulently allocate votes and announce in favour of any candidates by the INEC.”
Obuah called on the people of Tai not to be swayed by the undemocratic pressure from the APC leaders in the area and parts of the state, but to be ready to exercise their franchise in any properly conducted election that would produce authentic and acceptable representatives of the area at the national and state levels.
