Urhobo youths commend Buhari over ED-NDCC appointment

(Nigeria) Urhobo Youth Employment Initiative, UYEI, has thrown its weight behind the nomination of Engr. Samuel Adjogbe as Executive Director, Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, while condemning the opposition being mounted by certain Itsekiri and Isoko interest groups to Adjogbe’s nomination.

In a chat with newsmen, yesterday in Effurun, the group through its leader and activist, Francis Onokpasa, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for “finally appointing someone from the Urhobo ethnic nationality into a top position in his administration.”
He described Adjogbe as “most eminently qualified for the role President Buhari has now assigned to him.”
“We commend Delta APC leader, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and our state Chairman, Prophet Jones Erue for this appointment and hereby call on all Urhobo youths to continue to support the Buhari administration with patience and discipline.
“With this appointment, our hope in Buhari’s change mantra has been rekindled in the Delta Central heartland of the Urhobo people, with a big boost for the confidence of All Progressives Congress, APC, members in the state.”
Insisting that by Adjogbe’s appointment, President Buhari had “signalled to the Urhobo people that he is our friend and a indeed a true Nigerian patriot,” Onokpasa enjoined the President “to ignore calls to deny Urhobo this well deserved position as all such calls have no basis in law, commonsense or political pragmatism, apart from the fact that any such development will only spell doom for the APC in the state.”
