UPU crisis: Okwagbe commends reconciliation committee


(Nigeria) The Esama of Ukpedi Knigdom, Olorogun Okwagbe, has commended General E. Obada (retd), led reconciliation committee for the final resolution of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, leadership crises which lingered on for over a year.
Briefing newsmen in in Effurun, Delta State, Olorogun Okwagbe, said he was highly elated that the leadership tussle which almost made a mess of the UPU, had been resolved.
He added that, people of integrity like General Obada (retd), Rt. Rev. Bishop Muoghereh,  all royal fathers in Urhobo land, Chief A. Uloho, Chief Macaulay Ovwagbedia, Prof. Temi Akporhonor and many others who worked assiduously behind the scene to broker peace in the pan Urhobo umbrella body of the UPU indeed deserve applause and accolades from the Urhobo people.
He described the truce as the best news so far in recent time in the affairs of the Urhobo nation.
Okwagbe urged the people of Urhobo extraction both at home and in Diaspora irrespective of their political affiliations to work towards the success of the union, saying “Problems like these will make the people come out stronger and more united as it is with UPU today.”
He commended the General Obada led reconciliation team for a job well done, adding that, they have all written their names in a golden pen in the annals of the history of the Urhobo people.
