Edo insist Oshiomhole, APC plan to rig Edo guber poll

(Nigeria) Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman in Edo State, Mr Dan Orbih, has insisted on his allegation that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and Governor Adams Oshiomhole have perfected  plans to rig the September 10, 2016 governorship election in the state, advising those behind the plot to have a rethink.

He said it was not too late for the APC to canvass vote for its candidate because the PDP was putting in place machinery that will ensure that the votes of its teeming supporters across the state count on election day.
Orbih repeated the call in Aduwawa, Ugbekun, Dumez Road and Ologbo, all in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state during a campaign rally of the PDP governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the council, weekend.
He said, "Let me assure you that we have put in place measures to check them on election day. We are prepared to withstand anybody who wants to thwart the will of Edo people.
“We have heard that they have boasted of using officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,the Police, Army and other security agencies to rig the election. We are sounding it loud and clear that Edo people will resist any attempt to use security agencies to rig the election as the consequences of such action will be too bad for Edo.
“Let me advised electorate in the state that on election day, they should cast their votes and stay behind until the results are sorted out and counted. This is one of the ways to ensure that they did not succeed in their plan to rig the election.”
A former APC governorship aspirant, Dr Don Pedro Obaseki, who spoke at the rally, said vote for APC in the election would be a vote for Oshiomhole's third term in office, pointing out that the APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki, was out to continue the anti-people policies of the Oshiomhole's government.
He alleged that the Oshiomhole's administration had plunged the state to an unprecedented debt during a period of plenty and that Edo was now 4th most indebted state in the country.
