Ojo Maduekwe elevated Nigeria's image abroad ----Fasehun

(Nigeria) The President of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Dr Frederick Fasehun, on Thursday said that the late Chief Ojo Maduekwe elevated Nigeria's image abroad as Foreign Minister.
Maduekwe, a former Minister for Transport and former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Died on Wednesday at the age of 71.
Fasehun who said that he was shocked to hear of the death, described Maduekwe as a fine Foreign Minister who took Nigeria's image to a desirable level.
"Maduekwe was a decent and erudite Foreign Minister who was speaking to foreign powers at par.
"He showed that he was not a pushover and justified his background as a product of the prestigious King’s College, Lagos," Fasehun said.
According to Fasehun, Maduekwe was an unbiased politician who was not influenced by ethnicity.
"Nigeria will miss him. We sympathise with members of his family and pray that God in his infinite mercy will admit him into heaven," the OPC President added.
