Sen Abe at 51, promises to redouble effort in public service



(Nigeria) Senator Magnus Abe, All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Rivers South East senatorial district in the yet to be concluded legislative re-run election, has commended numerous well wishers, supporters, admirers for congratulating and rejoicing with him through the social media, the media and personal visits as well as their prayers on his 51st birthday.
In a statement in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, by Mr. Parry Saroh Benson, spokesperson to him, Abe said he was humbled by emotional comments of solidarity and support of the people, particularly the youths of the district.
He promised not to let them down for believing in him, adding that the out-pour of love expressed by the people would make him to redouble his efforts in serving them selflessly and better.
Abe said that he chose not to celebrate the birthday in protest to the killings in Ogoni land and urged the Rivers State governor, Mr Nyesome Wike, as the Chief Security Officer of the state to live to his responsibility in protecting lives and property.
He implored his supporters not to rest on their oars until the rerun elections were concluded and he emerges the winner.
“My celebration can only be delayed, it cannot be denied, for it is my destiny and no one, no power can steal my destiny or deny it."
Abe assured the people that he would do his best to work with President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the full implementation of UNEP report.
He said at 51, he would not deviate from his good upbringing, love for his people, and selfless service to God and humanity.
