Petroleum varsity sited in Ugbomro not Effurun ---Urhobo leaders

(Nigeria) Urhobo leaders have cautioned the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, that  Federal University of Petroleum Resources FUPRE, is sited in Ugbomro land and not Effurun, urging the Senate committee to quickly reflect same in the bill before passage.
The leaders, at a meeting yesterday in Abuja, said the even the people of Effurun cannot lay claim to the land on which FUPRE is sited, as Effurun cannot give what they do not have, therefore, Effurun should not take glory for what they do not have.
They advised the traditional ruler of Uvwie Kingdom and the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege, who are very much aware that FUPRE is sited in Ugbomro to do the needful by acknowledging Ugbomro as host the petroleum university to avoid litigations and communal crisis.
According to them, verifiable documents shows that it was the traditional prime minister (Unevworo) of Ugbomro community who single handedly approved and donated the entire land to federal government, who was also among the delegates that met with late Sani Abacha on the university matter.
The leaders noted that few days ago, the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Omo-Agege led members of the Senate committee to the University in Ugbomro, after which they drove from Ugbomro through Okuokuoko to Ebrumede before getting to Effurun to meet the Ovie of Uvwie.
