Absence of FG's brief stalls Dasuki's appeal

(Nigeria) The appeal by the National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd) on Monday suffered a setback due to the inability of the Federal Government to file its brief of argument.
Dasuki had approached the Court of Appeal, Abuja, asking the court to prevail on the Federal Government to allow him enjoy the bail granted him by a Federal High Court.
Counsel to the Federal Government Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, had told the Justice Abdul Aboki-led three-man panel of justices that the appellant's brief of argument was only served on him last week.
Jacobs argued that by the practice of the court, he had 10 days within which to file his response and applied for a short adjournment to enable him comply.
Aboki said that the date for hearing would be reserved when all processes had been filed.
The case was adjourned to a date to be communicated to the parties.
Meanwhile, the appeal filed by the embattled PDP Spokesman, Mr Olisah Metuh, has been adjourned to May 5.
The adjournment was to enable the EFCC counsel, Mr Silvanus Tahir, to file his brief of argument to the issues filed in the appeal.
Metuh is asking the court to set aside the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court which said that he had a criminal case to answer.
