(Nigeria) Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has stated that several of the ongoing  road projects  in the  state  will be completed  and commissioned by  the  first anniversary  of  his administration  on May 29.
Speaking  on Wednesday  while inspecting on going road construction  in Obio/Akpor,  Ikwerre and Etche Local Government Areas, Governor Wike  said,  that the  road construction  projects  will be  sustained  during  the  rainy season  because  of  the  technology being applied.
He said  that  the  state government  will  also fund the  road projects constantly because  of  their  relevance  to  the  state's  economy.
The  governor  expressed satisfaction  with  the  level of work at the Eliozu-Oro-Igwe road , Rukpokwu-Eneka road and the Igwuruta-Chokocho. He urged the  contractors to  keep the  pace of  project  delivery.

"Though the rains are here, the construction  of  roads  will continue.   We are using sharp sand hence there will be no need to stop work on the roads.
