Court remands 3 men for gang rape of 19 yrs girl

(Nigeria) An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates' Court, Ibadan, Oyo State has remanded, Johnson Fabelurin, 23; Olalekan Oladejo, 21; and Toheeb Farayola, 22; in prison custody for alleged ganged rape of a 19-year-old lady.
The accused persons were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge and exhibiting its video coverage.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, remanded the three accused persons in Agodi Prison pending the outcome of the case file at the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP.
Durosaro-Tijani ordered that the accused persons be kept with the police until the signing of the duplicated case file by the police before taken them to prison.
The pleas of the accused persons were not taken.
She adjourned the case till February 25 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Folake Ewe, told the court that Fabelurin, Oladejo and Farayola between April and August 2015 at Apete Area, Ibadan, conspired together to commit the offence of raping the girl.
Ewe said that the accused persons had unlawful carnal knowledge of their victim.
``The three accused person's allegedly exhibits publicly the sexual video coverage of the raped lady.’’
Ewe said the offence contravened Section 232(c), 357 and 516 and punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38 Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State 2000.
