Russians protest at Turkish embassy in Moscow
A protest action is taking place outside the Turkish embassy
in Moscow due to the attack on Russia’s military jet in Syria earlier on
Tuesday.
"The attack on Russia’s military jet angered me. I want
to say to Turkish authorities that they will have to bear responsibility for
all actions," one of the protesters said, reports Tass.
"When we saw that the Russian warplane was attacked by
Turkish aviation forces we covered the situation in media space. This
aggression against our country looks like a provocative act and we hope it
won’t be neglected," another protester said.
The Su-24 frontline bomber of the Russian aviation group in
Syria crashed in the Syrian territory. Russian President Vladimir Putin said
that the plane was downed by an air-to-air missile launched by a Turkish F-16
fighter.
According to President, at the moment of the attack the
Russian Su-24 plane was flying at an altitude of 6,000 meters at a distance of
1 km from the Turkish border.
Putin called the incident a "stab in the back" of
Russia delivered by "terrorism accomplices."
