Suicide bomber kills 20 at Shiite procession in Pakistan

A suicide bomber blew himself up Friday at a Shiite procession in southern Pakistan, killing 20 people and wounding dozens, police said.
The bomb ripped through crowds gathered in Jacobabad in Sindh province to observe Muharram, the holiest occasion for Shiite communities, in which they mourn the death of Shia imam Hussein ibn Ali, grandson of the prophet Mohammed, 1,400 years ago, reports dpa.
At least five children were among the dead, local police chief Zafar Malik said.
At least 11 Shiites were also killed in a separate suicide bombing overnight at a mosque in the south-western province of Balochistan.
No one claimed responsibility for either bombing, but the Sunni extremist Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group in the past has targeted the Shiite community.
