2 US journalists killed during live interview

Two United States journalists were killed Wednesday in a shooting attack while filming a live interview near the town of Moneta, Virginia, their broadcaster WDBJ7 reported.
Police were in pursuit of a suspect, who was believed to be a disgruntled employee of the station, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said in a radio interview, reports dpa.
Photographer Adam Ward, 27, and reporter Alison Parker, 24, were killed in the attack around 6:45 am during an interview for a story on local tourism with a Chamber of Commerce employee, WDBJ7 said.
The Chamber of Commerce employee, Vicki Gardner, was also injured and was in surgery, the station reported.
Video showed a WDBJ television reporter scream as at least eight gunshots were fired.
Both Ward and Parker were engaged to be married to other employees at the station.
Local schools had been placed on lockdown following the shooting.
