Court sentences teenager for sexually assaulting minor

(Nigeria) An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates' Court in Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday sentenced, Ali Sodiq, 18, to three days of community service for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Mr A. A. Adebisi, sentenced Sodiq after he pleaded guilty to the charge of indecently touching the breasts and private part of the minor.
Adebisi sentenced the convict 15 hours of community service, ordering that Sodiq would spend five hours each day cutting overgrown grass surrounding the court premises.
Prosecutor Ade Adebusoye had said that the teenager committed the offence on May 20, 2014, at Alatise Area in Odo Ona, Apata, Ibadan.
Adebusoye said that the convict acted contrary to Section 222 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
