2 remanded in prison for throwing man into river

(Nigeria) Two men, Samson Akintiye and Rasaki Rauf,  who were alleged to have throwing a man into a river and killing him, were  on Monday in Ota, Ogun State, remanded in prison.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, ordered that the accused should remain behind bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
The accused -- Akintiye, 40, and Rauf, 41 -- whose addresses are unknown, are being tried for conspiracy and murder at an Ota Magistrates’ Court.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Itaita Ebibomino told the court that the accused with others still at large committed the offences on April 28 at 10p.m., at Osuke Village in Ota.
Ebibomino alleged that the accused conspired and killed a man, Akeeb Musa, by throwing him into Osuke River.
The prosecutor, however, did not state what led to the crime.
He said the offences were a violation of Sections 316, 319 (i) and 324 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The magistrate adjourned the case to September 14 for mention
