ECOWAS condoles with Niger over Boko Haram attack

(Nigeria) ECOWAS on Monday, expressed its sympathy and solidarity with The Republic of Niger over Boko Haram attack in Diffa Province on June 17 which reportedly left 38 people dead.
In a statement, the President of ECOWAS Commission, Kadre Quedraogo, said the regional body remained supportive of the fight against terrorism.
``ECOWAS extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of the Republic of Niger, while praying for the quick recovery of the wounded. ECOWAS commends also the efforts by Niger's security forces to capture and neutralise the terrorist, ‘’ Quedraogo said.
He reiterated ECOWAS support to the efforts of by the Nigerien government, the Lake Chad Basin Member States in the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF and all other stakeholders to eliminate Boko Haram.
