Delta Assembly confirms 12 commissioner nominees

(Nigeria) The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed 12 nominees sent to it by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for appointment as commissioners.
The confirmation of the nominees followed a motion moved by the majority leader of the assembly, Mr Tim Owhefere shortly after being screened by the House.
The motion, which was unanimously seconded by the members of the Assembly was seconded by Mr Oboro Preyor, (PDP-Bomadi Constituency).
The nominees are Mrs Mary Iyasere, Mr John Nani, Dr Kingsley Emu, Chief James Augoye, Mr Vincent Uduaghan, Mr Newworld Safugha and Mr Joe Ogeh.
Others are Mr Fidelis Tilije, Mrs Omatsola Williams, Mr Austin Chikezie, Mr Joyce Overah and Mr Chiedu Ebie.
Okowa had on June 23, sent the list of nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Speaking to newsmen after the confirmation of the nominees, the majority leader of the House, Mr Tim Owhefere, said that the nominees were qualified to be appointed commissioner.
He urged them to support the state government in achieving its five point agenda.
Also, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Monday Igbuya, set up the select committee of the Assembly.
The members of the committee included Igbuya, who will act as its chairman.
Other members are the Deputy Speaker, Mr Friday Osanebi, the Minority Leader, Mr Festus Okoh, and the Chief Whip of the House, Mrs Patience Ajudua.
Others are Mr Samuel Mariere, (PDP-Ughelli North Constituency 1) and Mr Daniel Yingi (PDP-Burutu Constituency 11)
