Whitney Houston was a major musical influence on many singers out there, but she may have been more of a style influence for Rihanna.
The 27-year-old singer seemed to be channelling the late diva on Saturday when she posted a close-up selfie to Instagram, reports dailymail.
With a curly red wig and makeup that would have looked right at home on Whitney, Rihanna's tribute was gorgeous.

There was a chance, of course, that the similarities between the FourFiveSeconds singer and Whitney were coincidental.
Since there was no caption on the Instagram photo, Rihanna's exact intentions with the look remained unknown.
In the picture, big curls tumbled in a bob around Rihanna's face, which was made up with vivid lipstick and black mascara.

Large gold hoop earrings and narrow straps over her shoulders and around her neck made for even more of a late-1980s and early-1990s feel.
For comparisons to Whitney - who died suddenly in February 2012 at the age of 48 - one can find similar looks in photos from the time around 1990, when the I Will Always Love You superstar was at the height of her impressive career.
If Rihanna were paying tribute to Whitney, it would be a good choice - the late singer won more awards (including six Grammys and two Emmys) during her life than any other female artist.

NBC has no powers to impose fine on broadcast stations --Court

(Nigeria) The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has been restrained by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, from imposing fines on broadcast stations in the country. Trial judge in the matter, Justice James Omotosho also set aside the N500,000 fines imposed on March 1, 2019, on each of 45 broadcast stations. The court made the orders in its judgment a suit by the Incorporated Trustees of Media Rights Agenda, MRA, which had sued the NBC. Justice Omotosho held that the NBC, not being a court of law, had no power to impose sanctions as punishment on broadcast stations. The court further held that the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which gives the commission the power to impose sanction, is in conflict with Section 6 of the Constitution that vested judicial power in the court of law. He said the court would not sit idle and watch a body imposing fine arbitrarily without recourse to the law.
