Fayose's defence on lawmakers salary, a ruse ----APC

(Nigeria) The All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmakers in Ekiti State, have faulted claimed by Governor Ayodele Fayose that outstanding salaries of the APC lawmakers had been paid.
Mr Wole Olujobi, Special Adviser, Media, to the embattled Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, said "Our attention has been drawn to a claim in a statement by Governor  Fayose's media aide trying to rubbish our claim t‎hat none of the APC 19 lawmakers has received any payment.
"This face-saving tactic after a hatchet job go‎ne awry in the media has failed. We had earlier said that the governor offered to pay our entitlements in exchange for our resumption of duty but we refused.
We insist that we have not been paid because we have not received payment alerts. Knowing who Fayose is, we won't believe in any payment until we see payment alerts. All these lies in the media are not new to Nigerians who know  Fayose and his media aides as birds of the same feathers.
"Nigerians can still recollect that Fayose said he would not live in the new Government House because it is too expensive and that he would not be living in an illuminated expensive building while the masses are living in the dark just to show that he is the friend of the masses whereas from day one, he has been living in a building that he so much maligned and blackmailed Governor Kayode Fayemi.
"Again, he denied collecting N2billion Ecological Fund for two months. He did not own up until we got the FOI Law to verify the true position of things at the Fund Office in Abuja.
"This is the same way he said workers would receive their salaries 24 hours after verification exercise three weeks ago, but up till now, about 80 percent of workers are yet to be paid.
"In Fayose's administration, telling lies is an official policy. We insist that we have not been paid. Nigerians should not be deceived by this incorrigible lie coming from these characters that the lawless regime has foisted on Ekiti State," he added.
Meanwhile, Fayode had insisted that the APC lawmakers have been paid.
