Prosecute French soldiers involved CAR rape--- Amnesty

Following recent reports of French soldiers’ involvement in sexual violence against children as young as nine in Central African Republic, CAR, Amnesty International has called on the French authorities and the United Nations to bring to trial all those suspected of criminal responsibility on the basis of a prompt, thorough, impartial, and independent investigation.
"Like anywhere in the world, peacekeepers in CAR must display the highest standards of conduct and discipline and countries providing troops must ensure their troops are well trained, disciplined and held accountable for their actions.
“Unfortunately these allegations are not the first to be made against peacekeeping forces in CAR over the last two years, and they reinforce the need to put an end to impunity for crimes under international law committed during the conflict, no matter who those suspected of criminal responsibility may be," said Stephen Cockburn Amnesty International Deputy regional director for West and Central Africa.
