PDP clears Rivers polls

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers State.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Gesila Khan, in a statement on Monday, said  that the PDP won in all the senatorial and National Assembly elections results released  by the various returning officers at the federal constituencies and senatorial districts.
In Rivers East, the incumbent Senator George Sekibo, won with 66,2278, while the APC candidate, Andrew Uchendu of the APC scored 52064 votes. In Rivers South East, Olaka Nwogu of the PDP polled 40,8353 to emerge the winner, while incumbent Senator Magnus Abe of the APC scored 23052. And in Rivers West, Osinakachukwu Ideozu of the PDP won the election by polling 279745, while the Speaker of the Rivers State  House of Assembly, Otelemaba Amachree of the APC scored 23052 votes.
At the House of Representatives level Mrs. Betty Apiafi (Abua/Odual/Ahoada East) Kingsley Chinda (Obio-Akpor), Kenneth Chikere (Port Harcourt 1), Blessing Nsiegbe (Port Harcourt 2) and Gogo  Tamuno (Okrika/Ogu-Bolo) were re-elected.
 Also elected were Uche Obi (Ahoada West/ Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni), Jacobson Nbina (Tai/Eleme/Oyibo), Randolph Brown (Bonny/Degema),  Boma Goodhead (Akuku-Toru/Asari Toru), Dumna Dekor (Khana/Gokana)  and Emekenegwa Sunday (Ikwerre/Emohua).
