Man bags 10 years for defiling 2 yrs girl

(Nigeria) A Federal High Court in Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday sentenced one Apisu Abdullahi, 20, to 10 years imprisonment for defiling a two-year old girl.
Abdullahi was arrested for the crime on February 23 at Angwan Pama in the Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He pleaded guilty to the charge brought against him by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
Presiding Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa convicted the accused as charged and sentenced him to10 years imprisonment without an option of fine.

*Presidential election petition tribunal sittings in Abuja (Nigeria) Conference Of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, has thrown its weight behind calls for live broadcast of the proceedings of the presidential election petition court sittings in Abuja. In a statement by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the umbrella body of all registered political parties and political associations in the country noted that not only will the live broadcast douse tension associated with the ongoing proceedings and high expectations by the electorates, it will also promote transparency in the court process in public interest.
