Kobani, Minister of Industry escapes death in Rivers

(Nigeria) Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Kenneth Kobani was on Thursday attacked by armed thugs allegedly led by All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives member.
His official car was destroyed.
Kobani who was in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State on last minute consultations with his people ahead of Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections, was attacked by armed thugs.
It took the gallant efforts of his security details to avert what would have been a black day in Ogoni land and a replay of the Giokoo massacre in 1994.
Reacting to the sad and provocative attack on the life of the minister, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State, Mr Felix Obuah called for the arrest of all the armed thugs involved in the dastardly act.
Obuah in the statement by his media aide, condemned the animalistic action of a man who was supposed to be a “honourable” man, describing the alleged suspect as a failure and disgrace to the Ogoni nation.
The PDP Chairman, saddened by the attacked on  Kenneth Kobani, regretted repeated attacks on members of the PDP by the APC, happening just few hours after General Muhammadu Buhari signed another peace accord, and described members of the APC as violent.
Obuah called on the Ogoni people and all members of the PDP to remain calm and law abiding, calling for the arrested and prosecution of those involved in the attack on Kobani.
