Amaechi should face the reality of his loss

(Nigeria) The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, has called on out-going Governor Rotimi Amaechi of the state, to face the reality of his All Progressives Congress, APC, losing out in Saturday' Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant (Media) to PDP state governorship candidate,  Mr Nyesom Wike,  said "It is disheartening that the outgoing governor of Rivers State, Mr Amaechi is still clinging desperately to propaganda, after people from all the local government areas of Rivers State spoke through their ballot papers on Saturday, March 28, telling him in very clear terms that they are tired of his misrule, corruption and executive arrogance.
"Amaechi’s interview with Channels Television on Sunday morning where he claimed that no elections took place in Rivers State is the height of executive self-delusion. Starting from Amaechi’s community in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, elections were held, despite his very frantic efforts to scuttle same by employing unconstitutional means.
"All through Ikwerre LGA, from Ubima to Elele through to Isiokpo, down to all the polling units and wards of the Local Government Area, elections took place. Journalists, not those on Amaechi’s press propaganda team, local and international observers witnessed the electioneering process as postings on social media from indigenes of the area indicate.
"Of course, there was no way Amaechi would have known the reality when he fled to Government House, Port Harcourt to continue his anti-people scheming after the security agencies refused to allow him cause mayhem.
"In all the senatorial districts and federal constituencies, the elections held, contrary to media speculations sponsored by outgoing Governor Rotimi Amaechi. Rivers people, turned out peacefully and patiently, insisting on casting their votes despite the initial card reader challenges witnessed.
"As expected, when it was glaring that his party and candidate were receiving the political lesson of their lives, Amaechi turned to his media associates to start beating the drums of falsehood.  The elections in Rivers State were conducted in line with INEC regulations and the Electoral Act. The outgoing governor should accept the verdict of the people," he added.
