Rivers PDP challenge Lai Mohammed, Amaechi on fight against corruption
(Nigeria) The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, has called on the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives
Congress, APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to react to a recent media report, detailing
how he, and the APC connived with Governor Rotimi Amaechi to swindle Rivers State
of over N11 million purportedly for an APC session at the UK House of Commons.
Mr Jerry Needam, media aide to the state PDP Chairman in a statement on Monday, queried what could be a greater act of corruption than this undisputed broad
day fleecing of state money with facts and figures graphically proven.
PDP added “This is just one of the tens of hundreds of such
corruption tragedies foisted on the state by Amaechi and his APC accomplices.”
According to the PDP, “The stolen N11.08 million was not
only endorsed and mandated unprecedentedly as both endorsement and mandate were
signed same day (3/09/014), but was also pocketed as there was no such journey
to the United Kingdom under any guise.
“This has fortunately exposed the hue and cry by the APC
about fight against corruption as pretentions and spurious for demons can only
align to strengthen their powers than fight themselves.
“We thank God for this indisputable evidence of frightening
corrupt act perfected by Amaechi and the APC national leadership to prove to
the Nigerian masses how insincere and deceptive these APC thieves could be, the
PDP remarks, asking whether this is the way to fight injustice and corruption
by robbing Peter to pay Paul.
