French woman kidnapped in Yemen

A French woman working for an international organisation was kidnapped Tuesday morning in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, France's Foreign Ministry said.
A ministry statement said France — which recently closed its embassy in the country — is doing all it can to locate and free her, reports AP.
Yemen, the base for an al-Qaida affiliate, has recently devolved into chaos, and numerous Western embassies closed their doors.
The Yemeni state news agency SABA carried comments from an unidentified official in Sanaa who said gunmen forced the woman and her translator into a car.
Further information was not immediately available.
The French Foreign Ministry "renewed with insistence" a recommendation made two weeks ago for all French citizens to leave the country as quickly as possible.
