PDP commends Rivers people for massive support Jonathan

(Nigeria) Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that the massive turn-out for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign visit to the state was a confirmation that Rivers State still remains a top PDP state and that President Jonathan’s re-election was non-negotiable.
State party Chairman,  Mr Felix Obua in a statement by his media aide Jerry Needam commends Rivers people for their support, solidarity and warmest reception given to President Jonathan’s Campaign Team, describing the presidential rally as the mother of all rallies.
Prince Obuah said the huge success recorded in hosting the President and his large entourage and the patience exhibited by PDP supporters that came from across the State have disgraced the opposition and those who had attempted to frustrate the rally.
According to the PDP chairman, it was now clear to the people why Rotimi Amaechi had wanted to deny the PDP the use of Amasieamake Stadium, stressing that the venue was not even enough to accommodate the large crowd.
He, however, gave kudos to the surging crowd for their understanding as well as commended the security agents whom he said were overstretched in controlling the unprecedented crowd.
Describing what happened yesterday as a tip of the iceberg, Prince Obuah said there were much more supporters of the PDP who could not make it to the stadium but are more excited and only waiting for the February dates to cast their votes for the PDP.
“Since seeing they say is believing, I hope those who are claiming that they are challenging the PDP in Rivers State are watching. The hand writing is very clear. So let them not pretend not to see. We are working hard to deserve our imminent victory and thank God for the people’s understanding and appreciation. We also hope that those who are given to talking of rigging when they eventually lose are watching,” he said.
He enjoined all party supporters and faithful to also repeat same feat on February 14 and 28 respectively for President Jonathan and Chief Nyesom Wike as well as other PDP candidates.
