Kiev, OSCE, Luhansk representatives meeting on the way
A meeting of members of the working group comprising
representatives of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, LPR, Kiev
security officials and Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, OSCE, began in Luhansk on Wednesday, the LPR official news agency Luhansk
Information Centre said.
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s
Republic, DPR, were also expected to take part in the group meeting, but they
failed to attend, reports Tass.
“DPR representatives don’t take part in the meeting of the
Armed Forces of Ukraine and LPR in Luhansk,” DPR representative at the Contact
Group negotiations Denis Pushilin told the Donetsk news agency.
The sides’ representatives declined to say how long the
meeting would be held. It is only known that the working group members will
take a lunch break in the middle of the day.
On Tuesday, deputy commander of the LPR People’s Militia
Corps Vitaly Kiselyov said that at the LPR, DPR Kiev security officials and
OSCE meeting it was planned to discuss “the military block of issues that have
previously been raised in Minsk at a meeting of the Contact Group on the
settlement of the situation in Donbas.”
A similar meeting was held in Donetsk on Monday, December
29. The DPR Defense Ministry’s press service said that the negotiations focused
on three issues: the continuation of the Minsk talks, introduction of a
ceasefire and weapons withdrawal from the separation line. The sides also
discussed another stage of prisoner exchange.
