Russian soldiers detained in Ukraine not prisoners of war — spokesman

The Russian servicemen detained in Ukraine are not prisoners of war but detainees, spokesman for Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Andrei Lysenko said on Tuesday as he was answering a question about exchange of the Russians.
“All the detainees are now under the supervision of secret services,” Lysenko said.
According to Itar-Tass, earlier on Tuesday, a Russian Defense Ministry source said that the Russian servicemen had accidentally crossed the Ukrainian border during a patrol mission and that they had not offered resistance during detention.
The Russian Defense Ministry underlined that Ukrainian troops had repeatedly crossed the Russian border. “Ukrainian servicemen repeatedly entered the Russian territory separately or in groups totaling more than 500, with weapons in hands and carried by armored vehicles and we didn't make much noise about it, simply returning to a safe place in the Ukrainian territory all those who so wished,” the Defense Ministry official said.
