Palestine-Israel conflict should be settled by talks —Russia

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict should be settled in negotiations, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Fayed Mustafa said on Wednesday, reports Itar-Tass.
He was speaking at a commemorating ceremony for the victims of Israel’s aggression in Gaza.
“Israel is continuing the occupation of Palestine. Our people are dying. The conflict must be settled by peaceful means, through negotiations, and the solution must be found in the shortest time possible,” he said.
“The list of casualties includes mainly children, women and old people. Unfortunately, the list is not complete because the aggression is going on and fatalities are growing,” Mustafa said.
Citizens of Russia and other countries gathered in front of the Palestinian Embassy to express condolences to Palestinians. They laid wreaths and lit candles near the victims’ lists.
The ambassadors of Bolivia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Syria paid tribute to the perished Palestinians. Mustafa noted the high level of trust and friendship between Palestine and Latin American countries.
“We’re proud of special relationship between Palestine and Latin America. Their reaction to the Israeli aggression proved that these countries are real friends of Palestine,” Mustafa said.
Operation Protective Edge in Gaza started on July 8. The fighting in the enclave left about 2,000 Palestinians dead and 9,000 wounded. Sixty-four Israeli officers and soldiers were killed, and three more civilians were killed in missile strikes on Israel.
