Man, 26, remanded over sexual assault charge

(Nigeria) An Ojo Magistrate Court in Lagos on Thursday remanded a 26-year-old man, Samuel Alphonus, in prison over alleged sexual assault.
The accused, who resides near Government Technical College, Abule-Ado, a Lagos suburb, is standing trial on a two-count charge of assault and theft.
The Magistrate, Mr Taslimi Shomade, who did not take the plea of the accused, said he should be kept behind bars till next date of adjournment.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Godwin Eze, told the court that the accused committed the offences on August 2.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
