Keshi to prepare Eagles for 2015 AFCON qualifiers----Giwa

(Nigeria) Chris Giwa, Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, on Thursday in Abuja said the Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi, would be in Nigeria at the weekend.
Giwa told newsmen that Keshi’s arrival would ensure the beginning of full preparations by Nigeria for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifiers whose final round gets underway soon.
The Super Eagles will take on Congo on Septmber 6 in Calabar, before travelling to face South Africa on September 10.
``We are expecting Keshi in the country by this weekend and with that, we will go fully into preparation for the match in Calabar, and I am sure we will succeed,” Giwa, who was elected by a faction of the association’s Congress on Tuesday in Abuja, said.
However, Keshi’s contract with the Super Eagles has not been renewed after his two-and-a-half year contract expired at the end of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Although negotiations between the NFA and Keshi had started, the crisis in the football house made it inconclusive.
But, following the intervention of the Sports Minister, Tammy Danagogo, in view of the upcoming qualifiers, Keshi agreed to resume work only for the AFCON qualifiers.
Nigeria had been drawn alongside South Africa, Congo and Sudan in the Group A of the qualifiers.
The 2015 Africa Cup of Nation, AFCON is scheduled to hold in Morocco from January 17 to February 8.
