Ukraine cuts deputies’ salaries

 Ukraine parliament cut salaries of higher-ups, deputies and cabinet ministers on Thursday, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Thursday, reports Itar-Tass.
Amendments to the state budget and tax code stripped high-ranking officials of 10,000 hryvnias each ($830). They will now get a monthly pay of 6,500 hryvnias ($540) against the previous 17,000 ($1,400), said Yatsenyuk.
This will channel an additional 400 million hryvnias, or $33 million, to the state budget.
Prime Minister expressed confidence the bill on the reform of gas transportation system sent to repeated second reading on Thursday will be adopted by the current Verkhovna Rada convocation.
