Obama's accusation of our not assisting MH-17 crash probe not true---Russia

United States President Barack Obama’s statement that Russia does not co-operate with international detectives probing the crash of the Malaysian Boeing airliner is bewildering, spokesman for Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said on Wednesday, reports Itar-Tass.
“First, this is Russia that was one of first countries producing its objective control data over the air crash at a recent media briefing of Russian Defense Ministry,” he said, adding that “Besides, American side has not produced any facts, except for groundless accusations and data from social networks to the public.

“Therefore, as our people say the blame should not be laid on someone else,” Lukashevich said.
As for direct co-operation, according to effective international rules of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO, Russia not being a party in the air incident cannot come and say, “Hello, we begin participating in investigation,” Lukashevich said, adding that “We should receive an official invitation from the international committee, that is to say from the Netherlands.
“This invitation was sent several days ago, after that we immediately appointed our representatives who immediately started working,” the Russia Foreign Ministry’s spokesman said.

NBC has no powers to impose fine on broadcast stations --Court

(Nigeria) The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has been restrained by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, from imposing fines on broadcast stations in the country. Trial judge in the matter, Justice James Omotosho also set aside the N500,000 fines imposed on March 1, 2019, on each of 45 broadcast stations. The court made the orders in its judgment a suit by the Incorporated Trustees of Media Rights Agenda, MRA, which had sued the NBC. Justice Omotosho held that the NBC, not being a court of law, had no power to impose sanctions as punishment on broadcast stations. The court further held that the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which gives the commission the power to impose sanction, is in conflict with Section 6 of the Constitution that vested judicial power in the court of law.
