22 civilians, among them 3 children killed in Donetsk, Luhansk

Military actions in Ukraine’s southeastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions killed 22 civilians over the last 24 hours, municipal authorities said on Tuesday, reports Itar-Tass.
The people became victims to artillery shelling by the Ukrainian army.
Press office of the mayor’s office in the town of Gorlovka, Donetsk Region, confirmed the shelling had claimed 17 lives in the area, including three children, and injured 43.
Shells destroyed the school’s upper story, damaged the hospital maternity ward and left 75 substations without power.
Five elderly people died in a hostel in Luhansk, the local authorities said. More than 40,000 are left without electricity, while 20,000 have no access to water supplies.
In the Ukrainian army, the military actions killed 10 and injured 55, according to the National Security Council.
According to the UN, as of July 28, the operation in Ukraine’s east has killed about 600 civilians since April.
“Despite the Ukrainian army’s boasting military success, in fact the military situation stalls,” said commander of a Donbass battalion The East Alexander Khodakovsky citing units of the 72nd brigade in the Luhansk Region who surrendered to the militia and Russian border guard bringing their injured to the Russian border.
