BMW recalls over 100,000 cars worldwide

German car giant BMW intends to recall over 100,000 cars worldwide due to failure in the system of airbags produced by Japanese company Takata, Reuters news agency reports.
The issue has been found in all vehicles produced from 2002.

The company’s experts believe the system may inflate by itself, in particular, in countries with a humid climate, due to poorly protected contacts.
At risk are all vehicles of the E46 3-series generation produced between 2002 and 2006.
Earlier this week, Honda and Toyota announced about the recall of nearly 3 million cars due failure of airbags produced by the same manufacturer.
The last time BMW recalled cars in autumn and winter of 2013.
Thus, October 1, 2013, about 176,000 vehicles were recalled due to a break system failure. The case in hand was disrepair of the distribution shaft, which may lead to a partial failure of the brake booster.

NBC has no powers to impose fine on broadcast stations --Court

(Nigeria) The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has been restrained by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, from imposing fines on broadcast stations in the country. Trial judge in the matter, Justice James Omotosho also set aside the N500,000 fines imposed on March 1, 2019, on each of 45 broadcast stations. The court made the orders in its judgment a suit by the Incorporated Trustees of Media Rights Agenda, MRA, which had sued the NBC. Justice Omotosho held that the NBC, not being a court of law, had no power to impose sanctions as punishment on broadcast stations. The court further held that the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which gives the commission the power to impose sanction, is in conflict with Section 6 of the Constitution that vested judicial power in the court of law.
