30 bodies found in rescued migrant boat in Italy

About 30 bodies have been found on a migrant boat intercepted in the Mediterranean by maritime search and rescue patrols, the Italian navy said on Monday, reports dpa.
The La Repubblica newspaper said there were 566 other passengers on the vessel, which is being towed to the port of Pozzallo, in south-eastern Sicily.
It is expected to dock at the port later in the day.
The navy, which is coordinating the Mare Nostrum (Our Sea) boat patrol mission, said over 5,000 Italy-bound boat migrants have been rescued over the past 48 hours.
