German police authority confirmed a collision of a military
jet and a Lear jet on Monday over western Germany, leading to the death of one
occupant of the civilian plane, reports dpa.
Col. Andreas Hoppe, Army Spokesman said the mid-air
collision occurred while the Euro-fighter jet was participating in a joint

the jet was able to land safely at a military base in Noervenich near Cologne.
The spokesman said the Lear jet belonged to a subsidiary of
Airbus Defence and Space that was contracted to assist the German military on
its manoeuvres.
Hoppe said investigators from the military and government have
been dispatched to the crash site and an investigation has opened.
The police spokeswoman confirmed the death of only one of
two people on board the Lear jet.
She said the occupants were identified as a 50-year-old and
a 43-year-old from Schleswig-Holstein.
According to her, the crash site is hard to access, but body parts were found
