Okiro directs I-G to investigate alleged molestation of a female officer

(Nigeria) The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mr Mike Okiro, has directed the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the alleged humiliation and stripping of a female police officer in Onitsha, Anambra State.
This is contained in a statement on Monday in Abuja by Mr Ferdinand Ekpe, the spokesman of the commission.
The chairman asked the IG to thoroughly probe the alleged act said to have been committed by a businessman, and report the findings to the Commission.
Okiro, who warned that the Commission would no longer condone lawlessness, including cases of extra-judicial killings or acts of incivility, also advised the public not to disrespect and molest police officers and men.
He enjoined officers not to be deterred by attacks but to continue to discharge their duties as the commission was determined to give them maximum support.
