APGA is ready for Anambra governorship election -- party chieftain

(Nigeria) The FCT Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Steve Emele, has expressed the party’s readiness for the Anambra governorship elections scheduled for November 16.
Emele expressed the readiness in a telephone interview with News Agency of Nigeria, in Abuja.
He said that the party’s chances of winning the election were very "bright" because the party had performed very well  in the state as could be attested to by the people.
`` That is why the party will not leave any stone unturned until victory is achieved. In short, APGA is fully prepared and we are sure of doing once again what we know better, in Anambra and in other states,” he assured.
The party chairman promised that if the party wins again, it will continue with the good work of the governor of state, Mr Peter Obi.
He, however, urged INEC to place the interest of the electorate above other interest in the discharge of its responsibilities to ensure “free, fair and credible polls.”
“The party also promises to open up more rural areas, through the provision of good roads and other essential facilities, to enable farmers transport their produce to various areas within the state. Through good roads, there will be increased food production and more income for people to take care of their family.
He said that if the party was voted into power, it would also embark on policies and programmes that had direct bearing on the lives of the people.
“Everybody is quite aware of the fact that people in the villages need more infrastructure and the party is ready to do more to alleviate their suffering. If the party is voted into power, it will also empower more women and create more job opportunities for youths to avoid restiveness in them.''
Emele added that with APGA continuing in power the resources would be put into proper use for the interest of the people.
