Police in Enugu arrest 4 over shooting incident
(Nigeria) The police in Enugu State on Thursday arrested four
persons in connection with a shooting incident at Ogwuago near Abakpa
Nike, Enugu during which two persons lost their lives.
A statement from the Enugu State Police Command said the shooting
took place on Wednesday and that five other persons were injured during
the incident.
The statement, signed the command’s spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, named the dead as Sunday Eze and Nebechi Mba, adding that their bodies had been deposited at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu mortuary.
Amaraizu said the police had launched a full scale investigation into the matter to ascertain its root cause.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Abubakar Mohammed, had urged members of the public to remain law-abiding as the police had beefed up security in the area.
