APGA will win Anambra guber poll, says Rep

(Nigeria) The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA,  says it has put necessary mechanism in place to enable it win the November16 Anambra State governorship election.
Mr Victor Ogene, who represents Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, gave the assurance in an interview with  News Agency of Nigeria in Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday.

Ogene said that the people of Anambra had resolved to vote APGA for continuity.

He said Governor Peter Obi’s administration had softened the ground for the party to win the election.

Ogene, who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, said the administration had provided basic infrastructure and human capital development in 177 communities in the state.
‘’ I tell people that Gov. Peter Obi is the greatest salesman of APGA because  he has been on the scene for over seven years and has impacted positively on Anambra State in different sectors .

‘’If you take infrastructure development, Gov. Peter Obi has done massively well and as we speak, he is still flagging of new projects.

‘’And he is not just flagging them off for the sake of electioneering,  he is doing so with the conviction that he will complete them before he leaves office on March 17, 2014.
‘’And, the clincher is that, none of these projects could be said to be political or that would  be a burden on  an incoming administration because till date,  Anambra State under Governor Peter Obi has not borrowed one kobo to finance a project.’’
Ogene said APGA would field a candidate that would sustain the culture and tempo of development already put in place by Obi.
He said the party had already sensitised the people on the need to ensure continuity in governance by supporting its candidate.
‘’APGA, as a political party, is prepared for any election any time. APGA is much more than a political party. It is a mass movement of the Igbo people and the people are there for election.
‘’All we need do is to inform people that it is time again to make free choice through choosing of candidates.
‘’The party will conduct rigorous scrutiny of its aspirants so that when the candidate emerges, he will be somebody that is acceptable to the people.’
