(Nigeria) Deputy Governor of Delta
State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, said the demise of the member representing Isoko
South Constituency I of the Delta State House of Assembly, Kenneth Ogba, is
disheartening to the state government.
Otuaro made the remark yesterday
when he paid a condolence visit on the Speaker of Delta State House Assembly, Sheriff
Oborovwori.
The deputy governor noted that
Kenneth Ogba demise was sudden and a sad moment for the state.
While remarking that the late
legislator was a good example of humility and dedication to God and humanity,
Otuaro enjoined all to be reassured that Kenneth Ogba lived a fulfilled life
and would be missed.
"I am here with my friends
and members of the office of the deputy governor to condole with you and the
entire members of the House of Assembly for this lost.
“We want to say the passing on of
one of us is quite a sad moment. My heart felt condolence to all the members of
the state house of assembly.
”He was a man that exemplified
himself through humility, dedication to work and service to God and to
humanity. We will certainly miss him," Otuaro said.
Earlier, Oborovwori, while
receiving the deputy governor in his official residence, at the Legislators
Quarters, Asaba, said that the news of the passing of Kenneth Ogba came as a
rude shock to all members of the house of assembly.
"As we speak, the house is
still mourning. It's not a good time for us, because of what the house has
experienced this year.
“Within five months, we lost first
the Majority Leader, Tim Owhefere, member representing Isoko North Constituency
and now another.
"When people condole with you
makes you strong. Yesterday, His Excellency was here and today you are here,
that is why the good working relationship between the executive and legislative
have been very very cordial," Oborovwori stated.
The speaker thanked Governor Ifeanyi
Okowa, whom he said earlier paid the entire members of the house condolence
visit and his deputy, Otuaro, for the show of concern, which the speaker
attributes to the cordial relationship between the state executive and
legislature.
Oborevwori called on all to pray
for the Isoko nation, saying both diseased members of the state house of
assembly were from Isoko nation.
Late Kenneth Ogba, reportedly died on Sunday evening at 8p.m., during a meeting where he was said to have been provoked by a certain party faithful.
