Ogun to rehabilitate dilapidated public primary schools
(Nigeria) The Ogun State government has disclosed plans to rehabilitate dilapidated classrooms and infrastructure in public primary schools in the state.
Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB,
Alhaji Olatunde Okewole made the disclosure while monitoring the Third Term
Unified Examination of public primary schools in the Ogun Central senatorial district
of the state.
The SUBEB boss, who said government is aware of the
infrastructural challenges in some public primary schools, added that it would
not relent in improving the standard of education.
Government, he stated, was committed to improving the
structures in schools as the welfare and safety of pupils and teachers are
paramount to it.
Speaking on the commencement of the examination across the
state, Okewole expressed satisfaction at
its conduct, noting that the materials were not only sufficient but also
arrived the schools in good time.
He described teaching is a noble profession and charged
teachers to remain committed, while parents, on their part, should encourage
their wards and children for optimum performance.
